Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: 25 September 2026
Welcome to Stage Seeker.
These Terms & Conditions govern your access to and use of the Stage Seeker website, membership platform and associated services.
By creating an account, purchasing a membership or accessing our platform, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before using our services.
1. About Stage Seeker
Stage Seeker is an online platform designed to help speakers, thought leaders, entrepreneurs, coaches, authors and industry professionals discover speaking opportunities worldwide.
Our platform brings together opportunities from event organisers, conferences, summits, retreats, podcasts and other third-party sources. Opportunities may include:
- Paid speaking engagements.
- Unpaid speaking opportunities.
- Pay-to-speak opportunities.
- Virtual and in-person events.
- Other relevant speaking and media opportunities.
Stage Seeker is operated by:
Emerald Search Ltd
Company Registration Number: 16996143
Registered in England and Wales.
Trading as: Stage Seeker
Website: https://stageseeker.com
Email: hello@stageseeker.com
For the purposes of these Terms, references to “Stage Seeker”, “we”, “us” or “our” refer to Emerald Search Ltd trading as Stage Seeker.
2. Our Role as an Opportunity Discovery Platform
Stage Seeker operates solely as an opportunity discovery and information platform. We gather, organise and present speaking opportunities to help members identify potential engagements that may be relevant to their experience, interests and professional goals.
Stage Seeker is not an event organiser, speaker booking agency, talent management company or contractual intermediary between speakers and event organisers.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, we do not:
- Represent speakers or event organisers.
- Negotiate speaking fees or contracts.
- Guarantee acceptance or selection for opportunities.
- Manage event logistics or travel arrangements.
- Collect speaking fees on behalf of members.
- Process payments between speakers and event organisers.
- Guarantee the legitimacy, quality or financial reliability of third-party opportunities.
Our responsibility is to provide access to the Stage Seeker platform and its opportunity discovery services. Any subsequent engagement between a member and an event organiser is independent of Stage Seeker.
3. Third-Party Opportunities, Contracts and Payments
This section is particularly important.
All speaking opportunities listed on Stage Seeker are provided by, advertised by or sourced from independent third parties. Any agreement entered into between a member and an event organiser is solely between those parties.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Speaking contracts and agreements.
- Speaker fees and payment arrangements.
- Deposits and participation fees.
- Travel and accommodation.
- Event cancellations or postponements.
- Refunds relating to events.
- Intellectual property and recording rights.
- Promotional obligations.
- Event participation requirements.
- Insurance and legal obligations.
Stage Seeker is not a party to these agreements and does not assume responsibility for their performance or enforcement.
If an event organiser fails to pay a speaker, cancels an event, changes the agreed terms or fails to fulfil contractual obligations, the matter must be addressed directly between the speaker and the event organiser.
Similarly, where a speaker pays to participate in an event, any payment, refund or dispute relating to that participation is a matter between the speaker and the event organiser.
Nothing in this section excludes any responsibility Stage Seeker has under applicable law for its own actions or services.
4. Paid, Unpaid and Pay-to-Speak Opportunities
Stage Seeker provides access to different types of speaking opportunities.
Paid Speaking Opportunities
These are opportunities where an event organiser indicates that compensation may be available to a speaker. Stage Seeker does not guarantee that compensation will be offered, agreed or paid. Members are responsible for confirming all financial arrangements directly with the event organiser.
Unpaid Speaking Opportunities
These are opportunities where a speaking engagement may be offered without financial compensation. Members should independently assess whether an opportunity aligns with their professional objectives.
Pay-to-Speak Opportunities
Some event organisers require speakers to pay an application fee, participation fee, sponsorship fee or other associated costs. Stage Seeker may identify these opportunities as pay-to-speak where such information is available. The inclusion of a pay-to-speak opportunity does not constitute an endorsement or recommendation by Stage Seeker.
Members are solely responsible for conducting their own due diligence before making payments or entering into agreements with event organisers. Stage Seeker does not guarantee that participation in any paid event will generate revenue, business opportunities, clients, publicity or other professional benefits.
5. Accuracy and Availability of Opportunities
We aim to provide useful, relevant and regularly updated speaking opportunities. However, opportunities are subject to change. Stage Seeker cannot guarantee that every listing will remain available, accurate or open for applications at the time a member accesses it.
Event organisers may change:
- Application deadlines.
- Eligibility requirements.
- Event dates and locations.
- Speaker compensation.
- Participation fees.
- Application procedures.
- Event formats.
Opportunities may also be cancelled, withdrawn or filled without prior notice. Members should independently verify all relevant details with the event organiser before applying, making payments or entering into agreements.
We reserve the right to amend, update or remove listings where appropriate.
6. Membership and Platform Access
Stage Seeker operates through paid membership plans.
Membership provides access to the platform and its available features according to the plan purchased. Membership does not guarantee:
- A minimum number of successful applications.
- Acceptance by event organisers.
- Paid speaking engagements.
- A specific level of income.
- A particular number of opportunities matching an individual member’s criteria.
We aim to update the opportunity database regularly, but the number, type and geographic distribution of available opportunities may vary.
Stage Seeker may introduce additional features, including podcast guest opportunities, educational resources, training materials and other membership benefits. Unless expressly included in the purchased membership, future products, features or services are not guaranteed to be included without additional payment.
7. Membership Pricing and Payments
Membership prices are displayed on the Stage Seeker website at the time of purchase. Payments are processed securely through Stripe or another payment provider selected by Stage Seeker.
By purchasing a membership, you authorise the applicable payment for your selected plan.
Where a membership is sold as a recurring subscription, the billing frequency, price and renewal terms will be clearly displayed before purchase. Where a membership is sold as a fixed-term plan, access will continue for the stated membership period unless otherwise agreed. Where a membership is sold as lifetime access, the terms in Section 8 apply.
Any applicable taxes will be displayed or otherwise communicated during checkout as required by law.
8. Lifetime Membership
Stage Seeker may offer limited lifetime memberships, including Founding Member access.
A lifetime membership provides continued access to the Stage Seeker core opportunity discovery platform for as long as Stage Seeker continues to operate that service. Lifetime membership does not mean the lifetime of the individual member. Lifetime membership does not guarantee that Stage Seeker will operate indefinitely.
We may update the platform, its technology, design and functionality over time. Lifetime access includes the core opportunity discovery features expressly included in the membership at the time of purchase, together with any additional features we expressly confirm are included.
Future standalone products, premium services, educational programmes, podcast services or other separately priced offerings are not automatically included unless explicitly stated.
If Stage Seeker permanently discontinues its core service, we will provide reasonable advance notice where practicable and honour any applicable statutory rights or contractual remedies.
9. Cancellation and Refunds
Members may request cancellation of their membership by contacting: hello@stageseeker.com
Where a recurring subscription applies, members may cancel future renewals through the available account or billing management facilities or by contacting us. Cancellation will prevent further renewal charges, provided it is completed before the next billing date.
Unless otherwise stated or required by law, access will continue until the end of the paid billing period.
Statutory Cancellation Rights
Where applicable, UK consumer law provides a 14-day cancellation period for certain online purchases. The application of this right depends on the nature of the service, when access begins and the relevant legal requirements.
Where members request immediate access to digital content or services, we may request their express consent and any legally required acknowledgement concerning cancellation rights.
Nothing in these Terms removes or restricts statutory cancellation or refund rights.
Refund requests should be submitted to hello@stageseeker.com. We will consider requests in accordance with applicable law and the membership terms presented at purchase.
10. Member Responsibilities
By using Stage Seeker, members agree to:
- Provide accurate account information.
- Keep login credentials secure.
- Use the platform for lawful purposes.
- Independently assess opportunities before applying.
- Verify event organiser details and contractual arrangements.
- Comply with relevant application requirements.
- Respect the intellectual property and confidentiality of others.
Members must not:
- Share membership login details with unauthorised individuals.
- Resell access to the Stage Seeker platform.
- Scrape, extract or reproduce substantial portions of our database without permission.
- Use automated systems to collect or redistribute our listings.
- Misrepresent their relationship with Stage Seeker.
- Use the platform for fraudulent, unlawful or misleading activities.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts where these Terms are materially breached, subject to applicable law.
11. Intellectual Property
The Stage Seeker name, branding, website design, platform structure, original written content and proprietary database organisation belong to Stage Seeker or its licensors.
Members receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the platform for their own professional opportunity discovery purposes. Membership does not transfer ownership of any intellectual property.
Third-party event names, logos, descriptions and other materials remain the property of their respective owners. Stage Seeker does not claim ownership of third-party speaking opportunities or event information.
12. External Websites and Third-Party Services
Stage Seeker may contain links to external websites, application forms, event platforms and third-party services. These websites operate independently of Stage Seeker.
We are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, contractual terms or payment processes. Members should review the relevant terms and policies before providing personal information, submitting applications or making payments.
13. No Guarantee of Results
Stage Seeker is designed to make discovering speaking opportunities easier and more accessible. However, membership does not guarantee professional or financial outcomes.
Results may depend on factors including:
- A member’s experience and qualifications.
- The relevance of their speaking topics.
- The quality of their applications.
- Event organiser requirements.
- Market demand.
- Individual selection processes.
Stage Seeker does not guarantee that members will secure speaking engagements, generate revenue, obtain publicity or achieve specific business outcomes through use of the platform.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Stage Seeker is not responsible for losses arising solely from the independent actions or omissions of third-party event organisers or other third parties outside our control.
This may include disputes concerning speaking fees, event cancellations, participation payments, travel arrangements or contractual disagreements between speakers and event organisers.
Stage Seeker is not responsible for indirect or consequential business losses arising from third-party speaking arrangements, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
We do not exclude or limit liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
- Breach of statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
- Any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.
15. Platform Availability
We aim to maintain a reliable and accessible platform. However, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.
Access may occasionally be affected by maintenance, technical issues, third-party service interruptions or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We may temporarily suspend access where reasonably necessary to maintain, secure or improve the platform. Where practicable, we will provide advance notice of significant planned interruptions.
16. Changes to the Platform and Membership Services
Stage Seeker may develop and improve its services over time. This may include introducing new features, updating membership options or changing the presentation of speaking opportunities.
We may also modify these Terms where reasonably necessary to reflect changes in our services, business operations or legal obligations.
Where changes materially affect existing members, we will provide reasonable notice and explain any applicable options or rights. Changes will not retrospectively remove accrued statutory rights.
17. Privacy and Data Protection
We take the privacy of our members seriously. Personal information is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection legislation.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect personal information. Members should review the Privacy Policy available on the Stage Seeker website.
18. Complaints and Disputes
If you have a complaint relating to Stage Seeker’s own platform or membership services, please contact: hello@stageseeker.com
We will aim to investigate and respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Complaints relating to the conduct, contracts, payments or services of independent event organisers should ordinarily be directed to the relevant organiser. However, members are encouraged to report suspected fraudulent, misleading or inappropriate listings to Stage Seeker so that we can review the information and consider whether the listing should remain available.
19. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Disputes relating to these Terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where applicable consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
